Muurbehang in Bezoekerscentrum

In the spring of 2025, I was commissioned by Natuurmonumenten to take the photographs for the new interior design of the Gooi en Vechtstreek Visitor Center. These included photos for the walls, dioramas, and viewing boxes.

Panoramas up to five meters high and almost 11 meters long had to be created for the walls, to be cropped to a final height of 285 cm. Never done before, but a lot of fun!

The photos were taken at the country estates of Gooilust, Boekesteyn, and Schaep en Burgh.

The new interactive design was worked on throughout the summer. The official reopening took place on Tuesday afternoon, November 18th. I hadn’t been there yet, and that afternoon I was pleasantly surprised. Fantastic, it turned out so beautifully!

In the center of the space stands the “I Am Nature” tree, the heart of the exhibition. Viewing boxes, dioramas, a scale model, and stuffed animals bring the country estates to life. Windows have been kept clear, directing the view from the inside out.

On Friday, November 21st, I went back to take photos of the exhibition for my social media and website. It was so wonderful to see young and old—people in their twenties, families with young children, seniors—experience the exhibition. It must be wonderful to work there too. I’m honored to have been able to participate!
