Great Migration of Wildebeest
The annual Great Migration of Wildebeest and other grazing herbivores across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. One-and-a-half million Wildebeest, about 200 000 Burchells Zebra and 500 000 Thomson's Gazelle partake in this journey! The best known part of the migration, the spectacular crossing of the Mara and Grumeti Rivers in June-November is an experience never to forget. But there is more to see.

Wildebeest migration

In January-February the rains arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Southeast of the Serengeti, turning the plains green with fresh grass within days. Here - on the relatively save plains - almost all adult female Wildebeest will give birth within a two to three week period. The unique ability of Wildebeest to synchronize the birth of their young in this short period of time creates an abundance of prey for predators, thus enabling more calves to survive the attentions of Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas and other predators.

Photo Tour
We visit Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Ngorongoro Crater. Being able to go off road around the Ndutu Lodge in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area provides us with many close encounters with the Tanzanian wildlife. Martin and the Tanzanian team of guides/drivers will look for the best photo opportunities. In the field and whenever possible you will have advice how to capture the best images. With a guaranteed windowseat in a 4x4 you will have great photo opportunities.
