I am very proud being awarded a winner of the 6th Annual Black & White Spider Awards (2011) with a 1st Place - Outstanding Achievement - in the category Wildlife with this image of a female leopard.

The image was made in January 2006 during a three weeks stay in the Seronera area in the center of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This female - called Fundi - was patrolling her territory for days quite near the tracks. We saw her frequently walking along the tracks and resting in trees nearby. One day we found her in the fork of a tree with a beautiful bark.

BLACK AND WHITE SPIDER AWARDS is the leading international award honoring excellence in black and white photography. This celebrated event shines a spotlight on the best professional and amateur photographers worldwide and honors the finest images with the highest achievements in black and white photography.
